“This scholarship will help me to focus more on my education and opportunities than focusing on working to pay off my loans and tuition balance. I’m excited because this scholarship doesn't just provide financial help, Farm Credit is dedicated to making sure that I know my top five strengths and that I can apply them in my everyday life. Thanks to Farm Credit and MANRRS for the opportunity and always going that extra mile for the future leaders of agriculture,” said Cierra Woods.
“Congratulations to the 2021 Scholars! We’re excited to partner with MANRRS on this important initiative. AgSouth Farm Credit offers a wide variety of careers and we hope MANRRS students and others will consider joining our team upon graduation,” said Pat Calhoun, CEO.
Scholarship recipients receive a $1,000 academic scholarship and the opportunity to participate in the Farm Credit VIP Track of the 2021 National MANRRS Conference.
The VIP Track provides the scholars with meaningful interactions with Farm Credit leadership. It also exposes students to information about careers at Farm Credit in fields including finance, credit, capital markets, informational technology, marketing, etc. Students benefit from leadership development and training to better prepare them to find and succeed in a career in the agriculture industry.
Tuskegee University Junior, Jabria Bell, stated "As a minority student in agribusiness it is important that I expose myself to many different career opportunities to guarantee that I am well equipped in the agricultural world. This scholarship will not only ensure I am equipped in the classroom with funding for textbooks and tuition, but also equip me with the experience and background in the AgCredit Industry. I am excited to be a part of the 2021 Farm Credit/MANRRS VIP Scholars because I will be able to interact with successful professionals in this career and receive executive advice that will benefit my transition into the world of ag outside of undergrad. I would like to send a special thank you to MANRRS for continuously providing me with professional advancement that will guide my career in ag through opportunities such as this, as well as AgSouth Farm Credit for choosing me to be one of few that get this amazing opportunity!"
