Release date: 2/13/2017
STATESBORO, GA (February 13, 2017) – AgSouth Farm Credit Marketing Director Christy Smith recently announced that the association is accepting entries for its 2017 “mAGnificent” Photo Contest. The contest is open to anyone residing in the 59 Georgia and 34 South Carolina counties served by AgSouth.
“As the name of the contest reflects,” says Smith, “we want to focus on the importance of agriculture in our territory. We’re looking for photos that showcase our hard working farmers, the beauty of our fields and livestock and the day-to-day goings on of living a life out in the country.”
She continues, “Unlike the past few years, AgSouth will not be printing a photo calendar, but will use the photos submitted to help us illustrate Facebook and other social media posts, and in some cases, we may even use the photos in our advertisements and marketing initiatives.”
In order to get the best variety of photos that showcase the business of agriculture in all its seasons and progressions, the contest will run through October 15, 2017. “We hope this will encourage people to submit photos they take all year round,” says Smith, “We will post select photos on our Facebook page throughout the year as reminders that the contest is proceeding. As the contest draws to its conclusion, we’ll narrow the field down to our top 50 favorites and send out reminders telling the public that the contest is open for voting. The public will have four weeks to select their favorites from the 50 chosen by our selection committee.”
Twelve photos will be declared winners and will appear in the Association’s Out in the County magazine and in our social media. The first place winner will receive a $300 gift card; the second place winner, a $150 gift card; and the third place winner will receive a $100 gift card. The remaining nine will receive gift cards worth $50 each.
